Amy Winehouse scored a UK hit with 2003's Frank, but her follow-up is another story. Released in 2007, Back to Black blew up worldwide. So, the bouffant belter took her soulful show on the road. It turned out to be a short trip; after only a few dates, she canceled her North American tour due to "severe exhaustion." Fortunately, I Told You I Was Trouble captures the petite powerhouse before personal problems sidelined her for the rest of the year. Recorded live at London's Shepherd's Bush, Winehouse and nine-piece ensemble, including two smooth-moving back-up singers, blast through 13 originals and four covers, including the Zutons' "Valerie" and the Specials' "Hey Little Rich Girl."

Trouble Cats er et etableret navn på den danske bluesscene. Så etableret, at de i år kan fejre 30 års-jubilæum. Det er også derfor, at de har skruet op for koncertaktiviteterne og nu udsendt en ny CD. TCatsDer har igennem årene været enkelte udskiftninger i bandet, som nu består af: Henrik Hansen, sang og mundharpe, Martin Blom Hansen, sang og guitar, Morten Brauner, bas, kor og Henrik Thorsen, trommer. Optagelserne fra hjemmebanen på Fatter Eskil i Aarhus er forbavsende gode. Især trommelyden er meget klar og ren. Til gengæld fornemmer man næsten ikke publikum, og det er ellers én af årsagerne til at udsende et livealbum.

Brendan Benson – a colleague of Jack White who is known for his exceptionally well-crafted power pop records – produces the band and he favors a crackling live feel, emphasizing the Howlin' Brothers' loose, natural chemistry that, in turn, suggests their versatility. Unlike so many bluegrass groups, chops aren't the priority for the Howlin' Brothers – they prefer groove and feel, to bounce ideas off each other and their various guest musicians. This doesn't mean they can't solo – they can and they do often throughout Trouble – but Benson and the band accentuate interplay, which means this is a visceral record, engaging just as music.
