Classic power thrash with the amazing vocals talents of Warrel Dane. On 'Refuge Denied', Dane uses his full range. The album's opener, "Battle Angels," is one hell of a song, and has one of the coolest choruses in metal. You'll be listening to it a lot. The only real minus about the album is the slightly muffled production, courtesy of Dave Mustaine. However, after you get used to it, even the production adds to Refuge Denied's unique ambiance. It's really a gem of dark heavy metal.

In Refuge, Paul Collier and Alexander Betts argue that the system fails to provide a comprehensive solution to the fundamental problem, which is how to reintegrate displaced people into society. Western countries deliver food, clothing, and shelter to refugee camps, but these sites, usually located in remote border locations, can make things worse.
