Unvarnished is the tenth studio album by the American hard rock band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts.

Two disc package with some of the most critically acclaimed music of Joan Jett's career. Both of these CDs have been remastered and include enhanced material, including live footage from the era of the original albums.

1979 was a transitional year for Joan Jett. In the spring of 79, Toby Mamis, The Runaway's manager at the time, contacted Kenny Laguna, a veteran of many bubble gum hits of the 60's, to write and produce some songs with Jett. Laguna brought in Ritchie Cordell, also a 60's bubble gum veteran, to cowrite and coproduce. In August, Laguna and Cordell flew out to Los Angeles to meet with Jett, and within a few days, had formed the basis for the songs contained on this disc. Raw, spontaneous (recording only took about five days), these tracks are a document of the first sessions of Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna's prolific more than 30 years partnership.

Joan Jett's first album in seven years, 2013's Unvarnished, starts off with a big bang. "Any Weather," her rocked-out collaboration with Dave Grohl, sounds like a classic Blackhearts track with loud, tight guitars, a killer chorus, and Jett's growling voice front and center. It's a bracing call to arms that lets the listener know right away that Jett hasn't forgotten how to rock, not even a little. It's Grohl's only appearance on the album, but it's a perfect way to start. The rest of the record features her longtime bandmates Dougie Needles on guitar and Thommy Price on drums, plus her mentor and co-writer from the very beginning, Kenny Laguna.

Up Your Alley is the sixth studio album by the American hard rock band Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The album peaked at #19 on the Billboard 200 album charts and has since been certified Platinum.

Unvarnished, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts first studio record in more than seven years, breaks new lyrical ground for the pioneering female rocker while remaining true to the veracious sound that Jett is known for. Jett teamed up with some stellar collaborators on Unvarnished including Laura Jane Grace of Against Me, Dave Grohl, Blackheart band members Dougie Needles and Thommy Price, and longtime songwriting partner/producer, Kenny Laguna. Soulmates to Strangers was written with Against Me singer Laura Jane Grace, with whom Jett first became acquainted while on the 2006 Warped Tour.

Glorious Results of a Misspent Youth is the fourth studio album by Joan Jett and the third to feature her backing band The Blackhearts. The album was first released on CD in 1992 with several bonus tracks.
