Up From Slavery

Work songs, ritual or festive music, music and rhythms from slavery have significantly marked the American popular music. It shows influences of Congo in the Caribbean, Brazil, the United States. The songs of hope until the abolition Civil Rights Movement or the emergence of free jazz, music express these intense as human resilience that hope. They trace the path of a major socio-cultural events in our history.

"The Final Solution; Slavery's Back In Effect" is the debut single by Lisa Williamson, more familiar to hip-hop fans as Public Enemy affiliate Sister Souljah. After making a presence on Terminator X's "Buck Whylin'", it was decided she should record a full album. This song would be on her first and only album, 360 Degrees Of Power, released by Epic Records.

Broken is the first extended play (EP) by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, released on September 22, 1992 by Nothing, TVT, and Interscope Records. Produced by frontman Trent Reznor and Flood, it consists entirely of new material and replaces the synth-pop style of the band's 1989 debut album Pretty Hate Machine with a considerably heavier sound that would act as a precursor to their second album The Downward Spiral (1994). The music videos that accompanied five of the eight tracks were widely censored from television airplay due to their explicit content. Nevertheless, the song "Wish" won the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance at the 35th Grammy Awards, and the Woodstock '94 performance of "Happiness in Slavery" won the same award at the 38th Grammy Awards.

He shows their influences from the Congo to the Caribbean and from Brazil to the USA. The intensity of these magnificient recordings – from songs of hope to the abolition of slavery, up to the Civil Rights movement and the flowering of free jazz – is a testimony of human resiliency. 100th Anniversary is the 1987 compilation Mango/Island CD by Burning Spear. The CD puts together both of their albums in 1976, the influential Marcus Garvey and the instrumental/dub companion to it, Garvey's Ghost.

The Alexandrov Ensemble (commonly known as The Red Army Choir in the West) is an official army choir of the Russian armed forces. Founded during the Soviet era, the ensemble consists of a male choir, an orchestra, and a dance ensemble. The Ensemble has entertained audiences both in Russia and throughout the world, performing a range of music including folk tunes, hymns, operatic arias and popular music. The group's repertoire has included The Volga Boatmen's Song, Katyusha, Kalinka, and Ave Maria. It is named for its first director, Alexander Vasilyevich Alexandrov (1883–1946).
