NOW Music is proud to present the third instalment in our 12” 80s series – ‘Remixed’.
44 tracks across 4 CDs, featuring an amazing selection of the original 12” versions that represent the era – from huge pop chart hits to dancefloor classics, including some rare tracks on CD. The superb synth-pop of ‘Love Kills’ from Freddie Mercury opens the album, followed by the special dance mix of Eurythmics’ ‘There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)’. The Police’s remix of ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’, alongside perfect pop from a-ha, Holly Johnson, Kim Wilde, Red Box, and the Latin Rascals remix of Duran Duran’s ‘Notorious’, all feature on disc 1. The majestic extended mix of Womack & Womack’s ‘Love Wars’ is included, along with two tracks – ‘Wrap Her Up’ from Elton John in its over 10-minute extended remix, and Jellybean’s dance remix of ‘Jive Talkin’’ from Boogie Box High – both featuring vocal contributions from George Michael.

Beginning with the classic feel-good sing-along anthem ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ from Wham! and continuing with a run of some of most memorable hits of the decade from Kenny Loggins with ‘Footloose’, the massive number one ‘Uptown Girl’ from Billy Joel and the triumphant ‘I’m Still Standing’ from Elton John. Moving on with a selection of songs from some of the greatest female voices of the decade – including Whitney Houston, Dolly Parton, Chaka Khan, Irene Cara and Olivia Newton-John. We’ve dived even further into the musical treasure trove of the 80s to bring you 45 stunning extended tracks in a compilation.The album features extended versions of iconic tracks rarely seen on CD, including Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson’s ‘Say Say Say’, Queen’s ‘A Kind Of Magic’, Red Box’s ‘For America’, Malcolm McLaren’s ‘Double Dutch’, Strawberry Switchblade’s ‘Since Yesterday’ and ‘Sexcrime (Nineteen Eighty-Four)’ by Eurythmics. Other rare finds include the Francois K Splashdown Mix of Adam Ant’s ‘Apollo 9’ and extended versions of Man 2 Man’s ‘Male Stripper’, Donna Summer’s ‘She Works Hard For The Money’, Whitney Houston’s ‘How Will I Know’ and ‘Fascinated’ by Company B.

In 1985, NOW Music released ‘NOW Dance: The 12” Mixes’, a 20-track compilation that included the extended or remix versions of some of the biggest recent hits and popular club tracks. This was followed a year later by a second 20-track volume, and in 1989, a third…NOW Music proudly present ‘NOW Dance – The 80s’; a selection of 48 tracks that appeared on those three original ‘NOW Dance’ albums - all in their 12”, extended or remixed versions.From the first (1985) ‘NOW Dance’ release – Philip Bailey and Phil Collins’ #1 smash ‘Easy Lover’ kicks off the album, with The Power Station, Eurythmics, Stephen Tin Tin Duffy, and Belouis Some following. Less compiled cuts from Eddy And The Soulband and Mahogany, Lillo Thomas, and T.C. Curtis are up next, along with huge chart and club hits from Loose Ends, Cool Notes, Jermaine Jackson, and the #1 ‘Move Closer’ from Phyllis Nelson. Two 80s classics from Ashford and Simpson (‘Solid’) and DeBarge (‘Rhythm Of The Night’) feature, before making way for a stellar line-up from the next ‘NOW Dance’ - from 1986.
