Vaz Modular

Trumpeter Gidon Nunes Vaz graduated in 2015 for his Master's at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.
There's No End: For this recording he went looking for some of the most beautiful melodies from the American Songbook. With this he has made a composition of lesser-known works in which the musicians have their own musical voice. From the shared love for this repertoire there was also a collaboration with vocalist Denise Jannah (Blue Note Records), which can be heard on four of the nine pieces. The rhythm section of his quartet consists of very promising musicians from the current Dutch jazz scene. Nunes Vaz dedicates this album to his recently deceased mentor Peter Guidi (1949 - 2018).
