It's hard to believe that's such an artist as Javier Vargas, who's recorded & performed with some of the world's heavy weights such as Santana, Double Trouble, Jack Bruce, Devon Allman, Larry Graham, Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, Junior Wells, Glen Hughes and Chris Rea to name a few, is still expanding his Blues n Swamp rock spectrum with outstanding results. The Jams and the collaborations will never end as far as Javier is concerned & Heavy City Blues, which featured Carmine Appice, Paul Shortino and Bobby Alexander, is just another stepping stone forward for this Blues Rock phenomenon - namely the Vargas Blues Band.

In March 2007, Lost & Found is released including twelve new songs in a CD, three of which are sung by Devon Allman, and a DVD with two hours’ worth of videoclips and live material from the European and Canadian tours. Some of the most important songs are “Get Funky”, “Man on the Run”, “Open your Eyes”, “Lost & Found” (the album title song) and a version of Derek and the Dominos’ ‘Layla’, sung by Devon.
Javier Vargas is a Spanish blues guitarist. Born in Madrid to Argentine parents who had emigrated to Spain from Buenos Aires, he founded the Vargas Blues Band in 1991, the year they released their first recording, All Around Blues. In 1992, “Madrid-Memphis”, Javier’s second album, was released in collaboration with bluesmen “Carey Bell” and “Lousiana Red”, flamenco guitarist “Rafael Riqueni” and the vocalists “Philip Guttman” and “Jeff Espinoza”.

The new album by the Vargas Blues Band «Back in Memphis» is finally available with 11 new songs as well as a two-hour documentary that explores the career of Javier Vargas and that his followers will be able to enjoy open to through the Scenikus platform from November 18 to 20 celebrating the release of the new album and its 30 years on the road. The new project was recorded mixed and mastered at Cotton Row Studios in Memphis by Niko Lyras with an amazing band including Blues Brothers musicians Johnny Lang, Joe Walsh, Booker T Jones as well as a guest appearance by the band Double Trouble by Stevie Ray Vaughan.
