
Canadian heavy metal veterans Voivod are celebrating their 30th anniversary with a new album set for release on Jan. 22.Target Earth’ marks the return of the band’s original bassist, Jean Yves Thériault (Blacky), making the album his first with the band since 1991's Angel Rat. If you remember, ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted was a member of Voivod from 2002 to 2008.In addition, ‘Target Earth’ marks the first album to feature guitarist Dan Mongrain (Chewy), who took over the slot vacated by the late, great Denis D’Amour (Piggy). The lineup is rounded out by original members Denis Belanger (Snake) on vocals and Michel Langevin (Away) on drums. Limited editions version contain a CD version of the Live at Roadburn 2011 album.
Canadian sci-fi metal innovators Voivod are celebrating 40 eventful years of existence in 2023 with a special Anniversary studio album entitled “Morgöth Tales”, released via Century Media Records.
Once more recorded and mixed by Francis Perron at RadicArt Studio, mastered by Maor Appelbaum and produced by Voivod, “Morgöth Tales” includes fresh studio (re-)recordings by the band’s current line-up of 9 especially selected, not-so-obvious picks from the band’s hyper-classy and extremely diverse back catalogue (between 1984 and 2003) as well as a brand-new song in the album’s title-track, “Morgöth Tales”.

Canadian metal innovators VOIVOD, who recently toured Europe as part of the "Deathcrusher 2015" run alongside CARCASS, OBITUARY and NAPALM DEATH, will issue the "Post Society" EP. The "Post Society" EP, with artwork by VOIVOD drummer Michel "Away" Langevin, contains five studio tracks, including the previously released vinyl-only new VOIVOD songs from the split seven-inch EPs with labelmates AT THE GATES and NAPALM DEATH, two brand new songs and a HAWKWIND cover ("Silver Machine"), for a total playing time of 30 minutes.
