This campy little drama is set during the Franco-Prussian war and chronicles the exploits of Salome, a beautiful Viennese dancer. Salome falls for an American reporter and gets involved in cloak-and-dagger activities. When the two return to Arizona, she inspires the lawless residents of his hometown to reform.

This 60 track collection is a wonderful review of jazz singing styles and a chance to hear both the most well known "names" along with the jazz singers that fans would travel miles to see and hear. The earliest recordings comes from the Second World War era and it will not surprise you to know that it is the band and voice of Cab Calloway CD1/16 & CD3/10. Louis Jordan offers one of his well known numbers CD2/18 & CD3/6.

This triple-CD set devoted to Alma Cogan won't supplant the four-disc set issued a couple of years earlier by EMI, but it does contain a different breakdown of her music with a couple of tracks – most notably, her rendition of the Beatles' "Help!" – that aren't on the larger set. Each disc is broken down chronologically, into "The Fifties," "The Sixties," and "The Standards," respectively, and while John Lennon might've been amused by it, Paul McCartney will probably be downright impressed that the Beatles songs that Cogan – a beloved personal friend of the band, but a half-generation older and out of a completely different performing tradition – embraced during the final phase of her career, are presented on that last disc, alongside the work of George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Arthur Freed, and Nacio Herb Brown; as Cogan herself might've quipped, all "jolly good company."

Mexican-born, New York-based filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón directed this Mexican box-office smash hit about a pair of randy upper-class buddies that sparked some controversy for its frank depiction of drug use and sexual exploration. With their respective girlfriends away in Europe, Julio (Gael García Bernal) and his upper-class friend Tenoch (Diego Luna) are looking forward to a summer full of drink, drugs, and cheap meaningless sex. During a wedding, they meet Luisa (Maribel Verdú) - the 28-year-old wife of Tenoch's scholarly cousin - and try to convince her to go on a road trip to Heaven's Mouth, a made-up beach paradise the two claim is on the Oaxacan coast. To their surprise, Luisa - who is looking to escape her troubled life for a spell – agrees to go along. Two days into the trip, tension starts to build between the two friends: Luisa has had sex with each, and now both lads are not-so-quietly vying for her affection. Soon simmering jealousies boil over into savage arguments, threatening to completely destroy their friendship. After an enormously successful run in Mexico and Guatemala, this film was screened to much acclaim at the 2001 Venice, Toronto, and New York Film Festivals.
