Brian Tyler and John Carey are co-scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Escape Room. The film is directed by Adam Robitel (Insidious: The Last Key, The Taking of Deborah Logan) and stars Deborah Ann Woll, Logan Miller, Taylor Russell, Jessica Sutton and Tyler Labine. The movie revolves around six strangers who find themselves in circumstances beyond their control and must use their wits to survive. Neal Moritz (21/22 Jump Street, I Am Legend) and Ori Marmur (Passengers, Jack the Giant Slayer) are producing the Original Films production. Tyler has previously scored most of the movies in the Fast & Furious franchise, as well as 2011’s Battle Los Angeles for the producers. Carey has worked in Tyler’s team over the last couple of year and has been credited as a music arranger on projects such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me 2 and The Mummy. Escape Room is set to be released on February 1, 2019 by Sony Pictures.

Joseph Bishara has been hired to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Prodigy. The film is directed by Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, At the Devil’s Door) and stars Taylor Schilling, Jackson Robert Scott, Peter Mooney, Colm Feore and Brittany Allen. The movie follows a mother who is concerned about her young son’s disturbing behavior and starts to think that something supernatural may be affecting him. Jeff Buhler (The Midnight Meat Train) wrote the screenplay. Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism Of Emily Rose, The Rite) is producing the project. The Prodigy is set to be released on February 8, 2019 by Orion Pictures.

Swedish-based progressive metal group Soen will purge themselves of their 4th album -Lotus- on February 1st 2019. Featuring nine pieces, Lotus is the latest in a line of aural therapies from the band, questioning much of today’s darkness as juxtaposed with moments of great escape and hope. The lotus flower has always been a symbol of the purity rising from muddy uncertainties, and with songs such as “Covenant”, “Rival”, “Martyrs” and the title cut all expressing perspectives of life’s darker moments, it was a natural title for this latest project. Produced by David Castillo and Iñaki Marconi at Ghostward Studios and Studio 6 between July and October 2018, the centre-point of the album remains those trademark, snap-heavy, progressive Soen riffs, while overall Lotus promises an exciting new chapter of skin-shedding, soul-searching journeys for all who dare to commit to the ride.

"Hello Happiness" is the 12th studio album by American singer Chaka Khan, released on February 15, 2019. It is her first new material since 2007's "Funk This". It includes the 2018 single "Like Sugar", and the second single, the title track "Hello Happiness". "Hello Happiness" was first performed at the 2019 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California. The album features both a "contemporary" feeling as well as "strong echoes of the past, such as the late '70s New York disco scene". About the lyrics of the title track, Khan said: "I think we need a shot of just not taking the little things so seriously. Little things are important. It's about the little things, but just flow." Khan co-wrote all the tracks on the album.

In 2014 Dry Riverbed Trio put its first musical steps on stage. After a series of successful performances in the Netherlands, the band decides to focus on their own sound within the roots scene. The trio is inspired by bands from the whole spectrum of old school rhythm and blues, rock and roll to country. In addition, support programs are played for the Paladins and Ian Siegal, among others.

Melia Rose Scaletty, from Kansas City, Missouri, is a singer/songwriter who started her musical journey with piano lessons at the age of six. In high school, her interests blossomed into composing, choir, and theatre. Melia continued her performance studies at Berklee College of Music, studying jazz, and American Musical and Dramatic Academy, receiving a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Music Theatre. Today, Melia is an active songwriter, performing around Los Angeles. She recently joined the band Introverted Funk playing keys and singing back up. She will be releasing her jazz album called Keys, Myself and I on February 6, 2019.

Since forming in 2012 Chicago’s Twin Talk has steadily drifted from the conventions of the saxophone trio. While reedist Dustin Laurenzi, bassist-singer Katie Ernst, and drummer Andrew Green are deeply rooted in jazz tradition, they’ve spent their time on the band stage together making their music more elastic, spontaneous, and open, embracing new inspirations without stifling the improvisational heart of their work.
