Carter Jefferson cut his chops with Art Blakey in the years after Blakey had Billy Harper in the group, and as a loose way of describing him, Jefferson has a very spiritual post-Coltrane sensibility that closely resembles Harper's playing at times. Carter's recorded here in two different groups – one with Terumasa Hino on trumpet, and one with Shunzo Ono on trumpet – and the session has a nice spiritual edge, and lots of good original compositions. Tracks include "Why", "Rise Of Atlantis", "Blues For Wood", and "Changing Trains".

Rise of the Blood Legion - Greatest Hits (Chapter 1) is the first compilation album by the American metal band In This Moment. It was released by Century Media on May 4, 2015. The compilation comprises the band's four releases through Century Media. Material from their 2014 album, Black Widow, will not be included. The track listing was helmed by the band themselves. The title refers to the bands loyal fan base, which have been dubbed "The Blood Legion", also the title of a track off 2012's Blood.

Like most compilations from his old group the Stranglers, Hugh Cornwell's first solo collection subscribes to the "leave them wanting more" theory, as it whets the appetite instead of fully satisfying. If this was the be-all, end-all when it comes to Hugh's first six solo albums, then cuts like "Picked Up by the Wind" and "Black Hair Black Eyes Black Suit" would be included, but brevity is the thing here, and this tight, no-filler track list packs quite the punch, and that's hard to argue against. New song "Live It and Breathe It" lives up to the other numbers here – as opposed to when the Stranglers would screw up comps with throwaways like a cover of "96 Tears" – and the black humor of the old days is back with the cover art that features Hugh's well-done plus well-revered solo albums, along with a sledgehammer that says "F*ck it all!"
