The Seventh Sign is the seventh studio album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, released on 9 May 1994. After the classically-tinged Fire and Ice (1993), Yngwie Malmsteen returned to his heavy metal roots on this 1994 release. This is one of his hardest albums; the songwriting as well as the guitar work shows the influence of bands like Rainbow and Deep Purple. Most of the material is solid, and there are a few outstanding tracks like Pyramid of Cheops. The vocals are handled by Mike Verscara, who shows himself to be a competent, if not outstanding singer. The mastering on this SPV edition is quite good, resulting in very clear sound. The bonus material here consists of a studio track, In the Distance

Long Island, New York's Dream Theater are the globally celebrated standard bearers for progressive metal in the 21st century. Their ability to deliver tight, melodic, musically sophisticated songs and thematic concept recordings encompassing elements of hook-based hard rock, riff-fueled metal, syncopated prog, and refined lyrics have made them the act others are measured by. Their second album, 1992's Images and Words, established their sonic signature, while 1994's Awake and 1999's Metropolis, Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory cemented their place in metal's pantheon.

In 1984, Willie Nelson was at the height of his popularity, having racked up sixteen #1 country hits over the previous decade and crossing over to the pop charts multiple times, while starring in a series of hit movies and becoming one of the most recognized figures in popular culture. He united fans across genres and generations and his live shows had become legendary. In February of that year, he performed in Tokyo to kick off a five city tour that marked his first time playing in Japan, showing how global his appeal had become. The first shows were at the Budokan, the legendary martial arts hall and the February 23rd show was recorded and filmed for broadcast, eventually seeing release only as a laser disc in Japan. However the video was never seen anywhere else and the audio was never released at all… until now. The audio has been lovingly remixed by Willie's longtime band member Mickey Raphael and includes 29 songs across two CDs.

After Speak of the Devil, Tribute, Just Say Ozzy, Live & Loud, the Ozzfest collections, and both Osbourne-fronted Black Sabbath live discs, one would think that Ozzy had exhausted his concert-album appeal. But due to the success of his reality TV show, Osbourne once again decided it was time for another live album. Although Osbourne's live performances were still rock-solid during the recording of this tour, Live at Budokan seems mighty excessive…

The Montreux Jazz Festival is notorious for bringing out the best performances from even the most seasoned pros, but the 1994 performance of Al DiMeola (guitars), Jean-Luc Ponty (violin), and Stanley Clarke (bass), is by far one for the ages.
An impressive performance is made even more so upon the confession of DiMeola, who states these 3 virtuosos have not performed the material together yet. The trio performs 7 songs together and each has their own solo in the middle, making this performance a must-have for any jazz aficionado.
