And with its precise tracking shots and gratifying sense of irony, it’s Kubrick to the core.

They should have done that. The fact, that it is aimed at the young ones, is not an excuse. Pixar has shown us that you can entertain the young ones and the older at the same time. And be classy while doing so. The fact that it is 3-D does not add any extra entertainment value. The fact that is preachy does evaporate almost any of it anyway.
