Led by multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Eric Owyoung, Future of Forestry is a Christian indie rock band who combine a sincere, literate, spiritual message with low-key ambient music featuring acoustic and electronic elements. Named for a poem by C.S. Lewis, Future of Forestry was formed in the wake of the breakup of another group, Something Like Silas, which was formed in 2000 and featured Owyoung and his wife, Malina Owyoung. When the Owyoungs' marriage fell apart, so did Something Like Silas, and in 2006 Eric Owyoung announced he was forming a new band with a new musical direction. Initially, Future of Forestry featured the same lineup as the final edition of Something Like Silas, but as the group progressed and Owyoung explored new ideas, he became the only constant member of the band, with Owyoung recruiting different sets of musicians for each recording project and concert tour.

The plain truth is that there's only one Jerry Lee Lewis and Rock and Roll music will never see another like him! The piano thumping, egocentric wild man with an unquenchable thirst for living captured live! Rock and Roll classics as well as down home blues and country ballads, there is nobody like the Killer! Tracks include: 'Keep My Motor Running', 'You Win Again', 'Lucile', 'Over The Rainbow', 'Sweet Little Sixteen', 'You Are The Won', 'Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On' And 'Great Balls Of Fire'.
Is there an early rock & roller who has a crazier reputation than the Killer, Jerry Lee Lewis? His exploits as a piano-thumping, egocentric wild man with an unquenchable thirst for living have become the fodder for numerous biographies, film documentaries, and a full-length Hollywood movie. Certainly few other artists came to the party with more ego and talent than he and lived to tell the tale.

Born in the Northern Louisiana Town of Ferriday in 1935, Jerry Lee Lewis grew up listening to a variety of music; The Louisiana Hayride and Grand Ol' Opry broadcasts, 78 rpm recordings of country singers, and the inspired gospel music of the Assembly of God Church. He also spent hours hiding behind the bar at Haney's Big House, soaking up the sounds of blues men like, then 18 year old B.B. King.
His parents both loved country music, and soon young Jerry Lee picked up on it too. At his aunt's house, Jerry would play on the piano and when his parents heard him, they knew he was naturally gifted. They even mortgaged their home to buy him his own piano when Jerry was 8………

Let's call a spade a spade. Orion is an Elvis impersonator. No more, no less. That he's a good Elvis impersonator is important, since if he wasn't, Sun probably wouldn't have tried to promote his recordings as if they were genuine Elvis material, even going to the extremes of overdubbing Orion's voices on recordings by such Sun stalwarts as Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. This doesn't make him any better, but it sure makes him fascinating, particularly because he is gifted at mimicry and these are pretty good evocations of Elvis at his peak…

Some nine years after Miles Davis’ untimely death, Columbia Records is still repackaging his recorded legacy. The most recent efforts in this area have been made available both on compact disc and in 180-gram vinyl versions by way of Mosaic Records. It is the latter edition that this review is based on, though it should be noted that basically the only difference between the two sets, besides the presentation medium, is that Mosaic’s package is a 12 x 12 box with an album-sized booklet accompanying the records.
