Gasoline is actually Yoann Letard and actually, he created an album in 2002 called A Journey Into Abstract Hip-Hop. La Fondation is the company behind its success.

Simplicity goes along when perfected, and Pigeondust’s album is centralized around simple beats.
The collection of creamy beats starts off with the track “1995,” paying obvious homage to a classic feel that emerged in hip-hop from the 80s-90s, and defined that genre. The starting track defines the whole tone of the set yet to come, and this track isn’t excessive in it’s flow at all, yet contains a valuable hook to get one’s head nodding and wanting more. It slows down with the same tone as the previous track into a loop entitled, “Loop.” Genius.

Cuntroll – is a Russian music label which aim is to promote breakcore, trip-hop, ambient, and abstract hip-hop music. The label is interested to produce the most of the material sent, from both up-and-coming and established musicians, encompassed by more than 50 artists and performers from all over the world. We also organize our own events over the year (parties, concerts, summer film screenings, open-airs and music festivals). In addition, we work in partnership with the Embassy of the Netherlands and the Embassy of Norway, participating in the organization of concerts for Pink Floyd Show, Scooter, The Rasmus, and many famous Russian band.

Louisville, Kentucky, a city with no shortage of musical heavyweights in its history (look it up!), is home to the prolific hip-hop/neo-soul producer Dr. Dundiff. Armed with an array of instruments (including his trusty MPC) and a bevy of talented area collaborators, Dr. Dundiff has revealed The Distance, his latest ambitious album, released on the Cold Busted label. WIth over 40 projects under his belt — including past releases on Jakarta Records, Mellow Orange Music, and Grand Garden Records — Dr. Dundiff draws upon a wealth of musical experiences, all coming together harmoniously on The Distance. The album is deliciously jazzy and deliriously loose with crisp beats, smooth vibes, and amazing vocalists and emcees, including Claire Reneé, James Lindsey, K Raydio, Pink Siifu, and Shania Robinson.

Audio Alchemy (Experiments In Beat Reconstruction) is a 1997 compilation album released through Ubiquity Records. Highlights include music by Mumbles, Q-Burns Abstract Message, Cut Chemist, Bugs, Molasses, Sharpshooters and many more.

From Where??? is the 1996 debut album from Virginia rapper Shaquan Ian Lewis, who was better known as Mad Skillz. The title of the album was often the response when he told people where he was from, as being from Virginia in the mid 1990's was a bit of an oddity. Things have changed a lot since then with people such as Pharrell Williams, Timbaland, and Missy Elliott all calling Virginia home. From Where??? was considered one of the best debut hip-hop albums of its time. Mad Skillz would later shorten his moniker to just Skillz. This item was released by Big Beat via Atlantic.

Deep Concentration is a 2CD compilation released in 1997 by Om Records. Highlighting the best in hip-hop, turntablism, and electronic music, Disc 1 is an audio CD while Disc 2 is a CD-ROM with software for the Digital Beat Box program to create music. The software is only found within the FLAC files.

2016 has been a stellar year for experimental hip hop luminary DJ Shadow, aka Josh Davis, with the release of his critically acclaimed studio album The Mountain Will Fall – his first release in five years – drawing praise from all corners, from the Guardian who called the record “impressive in its inventiveness” to MOJO who claimed “Shadow is back in the frame” and AV Club who hailed it as “DJ Shadow’s best work since his early-aughts heyday”. For many, it is Shadow’s 1996 debut album Endtroducing that they keep returning to, widely regarded as a groundbreaking release that paved the way for experimental hip hop and changed the shape of electronic music from that point on. Upon its release The Guardian gave it a 5* review and called it “One of the most daring and original albums of recent times”, continuing, “This is genius”, while Spin wrote that the album ""practically folds you into its symphonic fantasia, the coming-of-age story of a 24-year-old bunk-bed dreamer."" Almost a decade later Pitchfork awarded Endtroducing a perfect 10 in their review of the 2005 Deluxe Edition, calling the record “deeply spiritual.”

This compilation was first recorded for a Japanese radio show called Radio Ape. Copies were given to selected people by James Lavelle and a certain number of copies were sold in Hideout, London.

It wasn’t really a movement, barely even a moment, but the Daisy Age was an ethos that briefly permeated pop, R&B and hip hop. The name was coined by Long Island trio De La Soul; they claimed D.A.I.S.Y. stood for “da inner sound, y’all”, but then De La Soul said a lot of things. Playfulness and good humour were central to their 1989 debut album, which cast a long, multi-coloured shadow. The 90s, it promised, would be a lot easier going than the 80s.
