Aerosmith is an American hard rock band, sometimes referred to as "The Bad Boys from Boston" and "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band". Their style, rooted in blues-based hard rock, has come to also incorporate elements of pop, heavy metal, glam, and rhythm and blues, which has inspired many subsequent rock artists. The band was formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1970.

Box Of Fire is a 13-CD set that brings together all of Aerosmith's '70s studio and live albums for Columbia, the band's compilations, and a five-track bonus disc. All of the albums have been 20-Bit digitally remastered from the original source tapes using SBM technology. In the wake of 1987’s permanent vacation, which had gone 5 x platinum and spawned the top 20 singles ‘dude (looks like a lady)’, ‘rag doll’ and ‘angel’, their 1989 follow up pump was an even greater success. With four hit singles, all on heavy rotation at mtv, pump was certified 7 x platinum in the u.S. Alone, and earned aerosmith their first grammy award, for the song ‘janie got a gun’. In addition, ‘janie’ also received two mtv video music awards, and is still regularly featured in lists of all-time great videos.

Aerosmith is a prominent American rock band. Although they are known as a Boston, Massachusetts band, none of the members are actually from that city. Three of the members, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Tom Hamilton had originally met in Sunapee, New Hampshire in the late 60’s, but had not yet formed a band together. Tyler was from Yonkers, New York, Perry from Hopedale, Massachusetts, and Hamilton from New London, New Hampshire. In 1970, the three decided they would form a band together, and that Boston, Massachusetts would be the place to do it. Later they met up with Joey Kramer (drums) and Brad Whitford (rhythm guitar).
