Famous and obscure artists roll out a remarkable array of blues from the country, from the city and from prison in this first-of-its-kind compilation overseen by the Lomax estate. Taken from five decades of Alan's best field recordings in the genre, the Songbook includes previously unreleased tracks and features digital transfers using DSD technology. Here is blues at its source: original, impassioned and utterly real. Featured artists include Mississippi Fred McDowell, Howlin' Wolf, Hubert Sumlin, Memphis Slim, Sonny Boy Williamson, Big Bill Broonzy, Muddy Waters, Leadbelly, Son House, Skip James, Jelly Roll Morton, Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee…the list goes on and on. All this with a 40 page illustrated booklet including a scholarly essay and song notes by John Cowley and a preface by Martin Scorsese.

Totally Country Vol. 4 is a 2005 compilation CD exploring modern country music at its best, never the worst. This was a collaboration between two top music corporations: Sony BMG and Warner Music Group.

Although more Grandmix editions have been made like the 80's and 90's editions, this marks the 28th annual Grandmix and is broadcasted on Radio 538. Unfortunately some foreign record companies consider the Grandmix as just another compilation license request. Their lack of knowledge of DJ and mix history sometimes leaves them stuck in unnecessary restricting company policies. All Dutch dance related companies are no problem, as most of the people working there got into the dance music business because of the early Grandmixes. Armada, Spinnin' and News are absolutly fabulous in their cooperation for which I, in return, am very greatful.
