White Light was comprised of Mike Hobren on guitars and vocals, Rob Haeuser on bass and synthesizers, and Rusty Haeuser on percussion and flute. On White Light's self-titled album, fans of Progressive Rock will be treated to a real romp of experimental music that utilizes a host of instrumentation and special effects. The group's music is powerfully expressed on the track Pacemaker. Mike Hobren employed a diverse range of styles and techniques on the guitar, including the use of a cello bow on the introduction to the track Stargazer. Chicken Bones hailed from a small town at the northern end of the Ruhr area roughly 30 km northeast of Dortmund. For many year their sole album "Hardrock In Concert" had been characterized as obscure but not so much essential. But over the years people found out, that Chicken Bones were a lot better than the reputation that preceded them and their album became quiet a sought after obscurity. Despite the title "Hardrock In Concert" Chicken Bones were not at all mundane hard rock but were highly creative and often moved very close to May Blitz, early Ufo or Wishbone Ash with lots of nice moves and flowery guitar work-outs (Freeman brothers in the "Crack Of The Cosmic Egg"). Uppsala Stadshotell Brinner Igen. is the second album by Rävjunk, Scandinavia's best punk-psych band from Uppsala, Sweden. This second album includes tracks from rare singles and EPs released from 1979-1980, as well as completely unknown tracks picked by Peter Ericson (drums). Shadoks Music and Ericson were working on this album for weeks, and just before the album was done, Peter sadly passed away. This album is in memory of Peter Ericson, the great Swedish drummer and singer from Rävjunk. Uppsala Stadshotell Brinner Igen. is a great selection of songs influenced by the early pre-punk period ala Stooges/MC5, as well as the longer jamming guitar tracks of German kraut and space-rock bands. Great symphonic rock featuring mellotron and flute, excellent keyboard playing and a fine guitar, no weak passages. Three of the six tracks are instrumentals. In his book "Cosmic dreams at play" (Glasgow 1996), the Norwegian Dag Erik Asbjørnsen lists "Point of eruption" among the ten best Krautrock LPs of all time, and quite rightly so. The only drawback is its short playing time. It’s a pity that this is the only work the band from Werne an der Lippe, at the north-eastern edge of the Ruhr Area, has ever released.
