Our story is about the return of the Little John band to the place of its birth, the San Francisco Bay Area, with fresh ideas, fresh material and a host of different personalities who came together to work on our recording project.

Bartolomeo Scala was born on 17 May 1430. He was the son of a miller who lived near Colle Val d'Elsa, a subject town in the Florentine territory. After early schooling in Colle, he attended the university of Florence, where he qualified as a lawyer.

One of the very few Putumayo albums with only instrumental music. A nice collection of world fusion from the early nineties, covering everything from the jazz-world fusion of Brian Hughes to the powerhouse Celtic approach of accordionist Sharon Shannon. Enjoy special instrumental music from such diverse places as India, Canada, South Africa, Camaroon, the Andes, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Ireland and USA, with the known exotic twist of Putumayo.

With a career at the pinnacle of Irish music for nearly 35 years Altan has achieved legendary status in a genre that has been equally shaped by the band's influence and genius. On The Widening Gyre, the band explores the musical relationship between American roots music and the traditional music of Ireland. It s the first full project Altan has recorded in Nashville, and working under the guiding hand of producer and Compass co-founder Garry West, the album pairs these Irish masters with some of the leading lights of American folk and bluegrass music, many of whom the members of Altan have known for years.

2016 release. After two fan-funded studio recordings and nearly four years touring the US as an independent act traversing the continent in a small VW hatchback, San Francisco-based Quiles & Cloud (Maria and Rory, respectively) have teamed up with Grammy-award-winning artist and producer Alison Brown for Beyond The Rain. Human emotion and world strife play out as central themes throughout the album.
