2017 release. The incredible music of Anadolu Pop's very own Dr. Frankenstein - Maestro Mustafa Özkent - as the daddy of all Turkish rarities, this record simply has to be heard to be believed and even then it's still literally unbelievable. Özkent's band is funky and loose in the way hyper-disciplined musicians can be, and it's no surprise that Özkent is a world-class arranger. But the record transcends mere craftsmanship by fusing Özkent's Turkish traditions with his contemporary funk musicians across the Atlantic.

Anatolian Weapons, the project of Aggelos Baltas (Dream Weapons, Fantastikoi Hxoi), makes its Beats In Space Records debut with To The Mother Of Gods. A hypnotic journey through the psychedelic folk music of Seirios Savvaidis, To The Mother Of Gods testifies that music, through repetition and drone, can take us outside ourselves to a liminal space beyond thought and rationality.

Their second CD "Hurel Arsivi", 1976, is their most important work (selections from singles) of the group, amazing rhytms, incredible guitar playing, some psych sounds and vocals. A masterpiece of Turkish ethno-psychedelic delight, recorded between 1970 and 1975 by the three very talented Hur El brothers; has the heavy hashish sound fuzz guitar, empassioned vocals and Eastern percussion that makes Turkish psych so savoury to the rest of the world; very possibly as good as anything recorded by countryman Erkin Koray.
