Suede have announced details of their 10th studio album ‘Antidepressants’. Due for release on 5th September via BMG, the album is a milestone achievement that sees the band at the top of their game. It follows the success of their critically-acclaimed ninth top 10 album ‘Autofiction’ released in September 2022, which charted at No.2 on the UK Albums Chart and was their highest-charting release in over 20 years. Suede will celebrate the release of ‘Antidepressants’ with a takeover of London’s Southbank Centre, through a series of exciting live performances kicking off in September, Suede’s four-night residency will commence with two consecutive nights at the Royal Festival Hall on September 13th and 14th, followed on September 17th by an intimate stripped-back performance at the Purcell Room, culminating in a collaboration with the Paraorchestra on September 19th at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.

Classic Britpop is strikingly relevant again in 2025, with Pulp touring off a revitalizing record, the echo of Blur's last one still ringing in the background, and Oasis-mania spreading like contagion. The fourth big tentpole group, Suede, may have never had the sweep of the others in America, but their fandom has a deep, deep devotion—and it's sure to be energized by the band's 10th album. Antidepressants arrives 32 years after their first and sounds brash and muscular.

On her fourth (and tellingly self-titled) album as The Weather Station, Tamara Lindeman reinvents, and more deeply roots, her extraordinary, acclaimed songcraft, framing her precisely detailed, exquisitely wrought prose-poem narratives in bolder and more cinematic musical settings. The result is her most sonically direct and emotionally candid statement to date. The most fully realized statement to date from Toronto songwriter Tamara Lindeman. Self-titled and self-produced, the album unearths a vital new energy from Lindeman's acclaimed songwriting practice, marrying it to a bold new sense of confidence.

As with her previous release, 2016’s Vancouver, Gem Andrews includes a Kate & Anna McGarrigle song on her latest album ‘North’. Last time it was Anna’s Heart Like A Wheel, here it’s Kate’s Come A Long Way, a suitably jaunty two-minute take featuring Bernard Wright on fiddle and some cardboard box whacking from Dora and Macie Keddie-McLaren. There are also two other non-originals, but these aren’t covers as such. Straight Lines and Two Lighthouses are actually acoustic, waltz-styled settings of poems by the late Newcastle-based poet Julia Darling, the former, arranged by Zoe Lambert and Dave Scott, as a country-tinged fingerpicked number, the latter, arranged by Tim Dalling and featuring Wright on mandolin with accordion by Nicky Rushton, taking a folksier approach.
