Statistical Models for Test Equating, Scaling, and Linking

Statistical Models for Test Equating, Scaling, and Linking by Alina A. von Davier
English | PDF(Repost),EPUB | 2011 | 380 Pages | ISBN : 0387981373 | 6.85 MB

The goal of this book is to emphasize the formal statistical features of the practice of equating, linking, and scaling. The book encourages the view and discusses the quality of the equating results from the statistical perspective (new models, robustness, fit, testing hypotheses, statistical monitoring) as opposed to placing the focus on the policy and the implications, which although very important, represent a different side of the equating practice.
Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium: Volume 2 Biostatistical Analysis of Clinical Trials

Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium: Volume 2 Biostatistical Analysis of Clinical Trials by Karl E. Peace
English | PDF,EPUB | 2018 | 251 Pages | ISBN : 9811078254 | 12.02 MB

This BASS book Series publishes selected high-quality papers reflecting recent advances in the design and biostatistical analysis of biopharmaceutical experiments – particularly biopharmaceutical clinical trials. The papers were selected from invited presentations at the Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium (BASS), which was founded by the first Editor in 1994 and has since become the premier international conference in biopharmaceutical statistics. The primary aims of the BASS are: 1) to raise funding to support graduate students in biostatistics programs, and 2) to provide an opportunity for professionals engaged in pharmaceutical drug research and development to share insights into solving the problems they encounter.

Nonparametric Statistics for Applied Research  eBooks & eLearning

Nonparametric Statistics for Applied Research

Nonparametric Statistics for Applied Research by Jared A. Linebach
English | PDF,EPUB | 2014 | 416 Pages | ISBN : 1461490405 | 12.93 MB

Non-parametric methods are widely used for studying populations that take on a ranked order (such as movie reviews receiving one to four stars). The use of non-parametric methods may be necessary when data have a ranking but no clear numerical interpretation, such as when assessing preferences. In terms of levels of measurement, non-parametric methods result in "ordinal" data. As non-parametric methods make fewer assumptions, their applicability is much wider than the corresponding parametric methods. In particular, they may be applied in situations where less is known about the application in question. Also, due to the reliance on fewer assumptions, non-parametric methods are more robust. Non-parametric methods have many popular applications, and are widely used in research in the fields of the behavioral sciences and biomedicine.
