È passato molto tempo e tante cose sono cambiate dall'ultima volta in cui il detective della polizia di Gerusalemme Arieh Ben-Roi e l'ispettore della polizia di Luxor Yusuf Khali-fà si sono incontrati. Sul punto di diventare padre per la prima volta, Ben-Roi è alle prese con un efferato omicidio avvenuto nella cattedrale armena di Gerusalemme.
