An ultra-violent and ultra-gritty tale of desperate Chinese would-be jewel thieves hoping to make a quick, effortless score in Hong Kong. Naturally, things go afoul, and the gang must hide out until the heat dies down, besmirched with the blood of an undercover cop. A progenitor of sorts of both "City on Fire" and "Reservoir Dogs," but lacking the romantic melodrama of the former and the hipster staginess of the latter. Winner of Hong Kong Film Awards for both Best Film and Best Director. Spawned a franchise with three sequels.

From The Fire is one of the most underrated bands in rock-history. Unfortunately exactly at that moment, when the band released their AOR-debut ‘Thirty Days And Dirty Nights' in 1992 on the Active Record label, American grunge was shoving a flannel-clad shoulder against melodic rock, and though the album got very favorable reviews in friendly circles, a sudden fascination with teen angst and the city of Seattle kept FTF at arm's length from Stateside radio play or proper distribution. On the night in October 1992, at NYC's Rocketeria, FTF performed what would be their last live show for over 20 years, to a packed house.

Only total desperation could reunite Dianna Kelley with Sam MacKenzie, the irresistible bad boy she walked out on ten years ago. But the fearless firefighter with the awesome wilderness skills is the only one who can take her where she needs to go. It's a gamble-tracking down her endangered sister while keeping Sam and their undeniable attraction at arm's length.
