Artificial Intelligence and Other Innovative Computer Applications in the Nuclear Industry

Artificial Intelligence and Other Innovative Computer Applications in the Nuclear Industry by M. Catherine Majumdar, Debu Majumdar, John I. Sackett
English | PDF | 1988 | 866 Pages | ISBN : 0306429020 | 80.7 MB

This conference brought together experts from 15 countries to discuss application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques to the nuclear industry. It was apparent from the meeting that even those active in the field were surprised at the extent of work and the progress made. There was a strong impression that application of this technology to nuclear power plants is inevitable. The benefits to improved operation, design, and safety are simply too significant to be ignored. This is a much different conclusion than might have been reached a few years ago when the technology was new and people were struggling to understand its significance. We believe that this meeting reflects a major turning point for the technology. It has moved from being a topic understood only by specialists to a situation where users are the most active people in the field. A broad array of innovative work is described from all of the participating countries. The activity in the u.s. is large and diverse. Although there is no nationally focussed policy for AI research in the U.S., many of these activities are reported here. Japan and France have a strong drive to integrate AI technology into their nuclear plants, and this is reflecteq in these proceedings.

Artificial Organ Engineering by Maria Cristina Annesini
English | PDF | 2017 | 271 Pages | ISBN : 1447164423 | 6.6 MB

Artificial organs may be considered as small-scale process plants, in which heat, mass and momentum transfer operations and, possibly, chemical transformations are carried out. This book proposes a novel analysis of artificial organs based on the typical bottom-up approach used in process engineering. Starting from a description of the fundamental physico-chemical phenomena involved in the process, the whole system is rebuilt as an interconnected ensemble of elemental unit operations.

Application of Artificial Intelligence in Wastewater Treatment

Application of Artificial Intelligence in Wastewater Treatment by Shikha Gulati
English | PDF EPUB (True) | 2024 | 327 Pages | ISBN : 3031694325 | 68.8 MB

This book offers a comprehensive exploration of the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques in addressing challenges and optimizing processes within wastewater treatment. The coverage of the book spans a spectrum of applications, including AI-driven monitoring and control systems, predictive modeling for pollutant removal, and the development of smart sensor networks for real-time data analysis in wastewater treatment plants. By amalgamating AI methodologies with wastewater treatment processes, the book provides insights into enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and mitigating environmental impacts. In the current research scenario, the theme of the book is highly pertinent as it responds to the pressing need for sustainable and efficient wastewater treatment solutions. The book defines the theme by elucidating how AI technologies, such as machine learning algorithms and data analytics, can revolutionize wastewater treatment processes by enabling proactive decision-making, optimizing resource allocation, and predicting potential system failures. This intersection of AI and wastewater treatment not only addresses operational challenges but also contributes to the broader goal of achieving environmentally conscious and economically viable solutions.
