In the back of most people's mind there's a place–usually a dimly-lit, music-filled, smoke-clouded place–where certain memories reside. That first fumbling kiss, for instance. Major league Danish indierock band. Formed 1991 by schoolmates Kasper, Mads & Asger initially as a band titled Nirvana, playing heavy blues. As the US Nirvana grew in popularity, the band was aware that they had to change name - they changed it to Kashmir, named after a song by one of their favourite bands, Led Zeppelin.Kashmir finished second in the 1993 Danish Rock Championship (the winner that year was Dizzy Mizz Lizzy), and the attention on the band rose. In 1994 Kashmir got their first record deal, on the new-formed record label Start, where their first album, Travelogue, was released. Later on, Kashmir signed a contract with Sony Denmark.

As far as the more casual observer is concerned, the prog rock revival of the 80s was kicked off by Marillion and their ‘Market Square Heroes’ EP and subsequent hit album ‘Script for A Jester’s Tear’ in 1983. Marillion certainly flew the flag for prog’s unexpected commercial success during that decade, but the rumblings of a brilliant, but terminally unfashionable musical revival had actually begun much earlier.

DAVID BOWIE David Bowie Box (Deleted 2007 UK strictly limited edition 10-CD box set comprising 5 x 2-CD sets of the albums 'Outside', 'Earthling', 'Hours', 'Heathen' & 'Reality'; all with Bonus Discs containing remixes from Moby, Marius deVries & more, bonus material [previously released on special editions], extra tracks from single releases and covers of classics such as 'Waterloo Sunset'; all presented in mini LP-style card picture sleeves complete with individual booklets and housed in a picture slipcase. While late-period Bowie was more a stylistic interpreter than the innovator of the 1970s, this collection has many high points, notably a version of the Kinks' "Waterloo Sunset" and a series of reworkings of the artist's own "Rebel Rebel."
