In 1994, Klaus Schulze was able to look back on a long, successful and highly influential career, but he was also able to embrace the new. He was in the midst of his 'digital phase', fascinated by sampling technology, and had a clear idea of where he could go with the technology, which resulted in albums like 'Beyond Recall'; the Royal Festival Hall recordings; 'The Dome Event' and even to an extent his opera 'Totentag'. By contrast Peter Kuhlman a.k.a Pete Namlook had just started.

Peter Kuhlmann, aka Pete Namlook, founder of the FAX +49-69/450464 label, passed away unexpectedly in 2012, leaving behind an incredible catalog of hundreds of releases, composed by himself and/or collaborators from around the world, full of electronic music like no one had ever heard before. Namlook's passing is a great loss to the entire electronic music community and this is a tribute compilation worthy of recognizing the tremendous impact he had on the world of electronic music. The result is Die Welt ist Klang, consisting of 4 CDs of tracks from FAX +49-69/450464 artists, plus 4 CDs of tracks from fans, all housed in a handsome wooden box. This album was written to accompany an hour-long session of Hatha yoga. The composer, longtime yoga expert Chinmaya Dunster, divided the program into seven songs to reflect the body's seven chakras, or energy points. He alternates between slow and mystical compositions and more uptempo, energy-driven pieces that match the varying paces of the Hatha workout. The rich, textured sounds of this music seem to acknowledge an entire host of international traditions, but ultimately there is a distinctly Indian flavor, due to the generous use of the sarod, an Indian stringed instrument.
