CHAMBER WORKS OF ÉRIC TANGUY from Navona Records and composer Eric Tanguy delivers three world premiere recordings and a curated selection of the composer’s chamber pieces that demonstrates his illustrative style of punctuated modality. Brought to life by talented artists Ambroise Aubrun (violin), Cécilia Tsan (cello), Steven Vanhauwaert (piano), Martin Chalifour (violin), and Elissa Johnston (soprano), these seven pieces reflect many years of past collaboration amongst the performers resulting in a connection that is translated through thoughtful yet intense musical stylings.

Composed at the Court of Coethen (1718 -1723), these six sonatas are a testament to a boundless imagination and an incredible creative power. J.S. Bach excels in the Ars combinatoria where thematic responses with two or three voices flourish, and cultivates with tenderness the art of moving and convincing in his slow movements.

Après un premier album sur Artalinna dédié à cinq sonates parfois rares composées en 1943, Jocelyn Aubrun, ici rejoint par la pianiste Ursula Alvarez Heredia défend la musique pour flûte et piano d’une des personnalités les plus importantes du Paris du début du XXe siècle, Philippe Gaubert. Les trois Sonates et la Sonatine, et deux petites pièces de charme, témoignent d’une verve compositionnelle souvent surprenante, témoignage des multiples esthétiques en vogue à l’époque.
