Automotive Science Mathematics

This book focuses on smart results in the field of smart automotive mobility concentrating on (semi-)autonomous cars. The results are based on 5 recently finished public-funded research projects with a budget of over 15 million Euro. Providing insights into the next generation of personalized mobility on the road the authors discuss personalized, adaptive cooperative systems for highly automated cars and how they can be developed in a human-centered way.

This book presents the proceedings of the SIA CESA 2018 conference on Electric Components and Systems for Automotive Applications. Organized by the French Society of Automotive Engineers every two years in Paris, it addresses topical questions in the domain of electronics components and systems in order to provide insights into the market and open the floor for business discussions.

An emerging trend in the automobile industry is its convergence with information technology (IT). Indeed, it has been estimated that almost 90% of new automobile technologies involve IT in some form. Smart driving technologies that improve safety as well as green fuel technologies are quite representative of the convergence between IT and automobiles. The smart driving technologies include three key elements: sensing of driving environments, detection of objects and potential hazards, and the generation of driving control signals including warning signals.
