Avalanches

"Frontier Psychiatrist" is the 2001 single by Australian group The Avalanches. This single, released in the UK, features four different mixes of the song plus two tracks not on their Since I Left You album. This was also an enhanced CD which features the full video for "Frontier Psycharist". The files from the enhanced portion is only in the lossless version. Modular Recordings made this happen.

This book presents an overview of volcanic debris avalanche deposits, which are produced by partial volcanic edifice collapse, a catastrophic natural phenomenon. It has been 40 years since the volcanic debris avalanche associated with the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens, and our understanding of these events has grown considerably in the interim.

This book provides the state-of-the art of the present understanding of avalanche phenomena in both functional materials and geophysics. The main emphasis of the book is analyzing these apparently different problems within the common perspective of out-of-equilibrium phenomena displaying spatial and temporal complexity that occur in a broad range of scales. Many systems, when subjected to an external force, respond intermittently in the form of avalanches that often span over a wide range of sizes, energies and durations. This is often related to a class of critical behavior characterized by the absence of characteristic scales. Typical examples are magnetization processes, plastic deformation and failure occuring in functional materials. These phenomena share many similarities with seismicity arising from the earth crust failure due to stresses that originate from plate tectonics.

Building on the sample-based approach of their classic albums 'Since I Left You' and 'Wildflower', but stepping boldly into new terrain, 'We Will Always Love You' is a full length masterpiece from The Avalanches.

Since I Left You is the 2001 CD by the Australian group The Avalanches. The entire album is a collage of sounds from outside sources, being one of the first albums to be created with 100% samples. This CD features the hits "Since I Left You", "Electricity", and "Frontier Psychiatrist". This CD rip is the second mix released, as the Australian version featured certain samples that did not make it into versions outside of Australia and New Zealand. This was released by Modular via Sire.

When I Met You is a 2004 CD by Australia's The Avalanches. This was originally released by them as Gimix to be a different way to mix the songs on their Since I Left You but this was unofficially released by the TMQ label.
