Excellent addition to any celtic-folk music collection.
Quitte Paris is the third album by French Folk group La Bamboche.
Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Jean-Luc Ponty plays himself some really modern keyboards here, creating very atmospheric textures, rather urban, often flirting with a jazz-New Age style.
Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Gabriel Yacoub began his musical career as a guitarist and backing vocalist for Alan Stivell before forming his own band Malicorne.
Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music
Malicorne is my favourite folk collective and Almanach is their best album. It is a concept album from 1976 where each of the 12 songs represents a month of the year. Hence 'Almanach' which means calendar in English. Track 13 was not on the original album.
A French cross between GRYPHON and STEELEYE SPAN. The songs are mostly old French traditional songs. The head of Malicorne is singer-guitarist-composer Gabriel Yacoub.
Essential: a masterpiece of Folk music
Le Disque D’Or is a early compilation of Alan Stivell’s first 3 LPs: “Reflets”, “Renaissance De La Harpe Celtique” and “Chemins De Terre”. Also included are 2 unpublished singles in an official LP.
Essential: a masterpiece of Folk music
At the time of buying this LP, I thought I was going to find a Stivell immersed in the Prog-Folk music… my surprise was great after listening to it completely: Totally unplugged, no instrument with electric cables.
Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection
I didn’t know that Alan Stivell was on PA as I always thought he was just Folk, not properly prog. However this album has some prog moments, in particular “Delivrance” that’s my favourite track here.
