After the success of the first Classics delivers the musical range of the singer-songwriters enough good material to make a second part to be able to build. This time with gems of artists that we missed on the first part such as Sting, Janis Ian, Cat Stevens, Lyle Lovett, and even the old stalwarts such as Leonard Cohen, Chris Rea, Bob Dylan, JJ Cale, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon.

After the success of the first Classics delivers the musical range of the singer-songwriters enough good material to ease a second part to compile. This time with gems of artists we missed out on some one like Sting, Cat Stevens and Lyle Lovett, and also the old stalwarts such as Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell and Paul Simon. The song was inspired by Mitchell's room in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. The inspiration for the first verse comes partly from the distinct decor of her apartment. While in Philadelphia, Mitchell and friends had made a mobile from shards of colored glass they had found in the street and wire coat hangers. VanWarmer was inspired to write Just When I Needed You Most by a devastating breakup with a girlfriend: he wrote the song six months after that breakup co-writing it with Tony Wilson of the group Hot Chocolate two years before it became a hit.

Sounds of the Seventies was a 38-volume series issued by Time-Life during the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, spotlighting pop music of the 1970s. Much like Time-Life's other series chronicling popular music, volumes in the "Sounds of the Seventies" series covered a specific time period, including individual years in some volumes, and different parts of the decade (for instance, the early 1970s) in others; in addition, some volumes covered specific trends, such as music popular on album-oriented rock stations on the FM band. Each volume was issued on either compact disc, cassette or (with volumes issued prior to 1991) vinyl record.

Robert Zemeckis is arguably a close second behind Steven Spielberg as the contemporary American director who has most consistently gained critical acclaim while generating massive box office and popular appeal with a slew of iconic films. Even Zemeckis' purported failures—and there indubitably are some—are often lionized for their breathtaking vision and utilization of modern special effects techniques like motion capture. But just a cursory review of the man's contributions to film over the past 40 years reveals a staggering array of acclaimed and often insanely popular titles: Romancing the Stone, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Contact, Cast Away….

Steve Winwood's Chronicles presents an extremely brief overview of his material, beginning with Arc of a Diver and including tracks from 1982's Talking Back to the Night and 1986's Back in the High Life release. While songs such as "Higher Love," "While You See a Chance," and "Talking Back to the Night" are surely give-ins, the collection suffers from the absence of "Freedom Overspill," "The Finer Things," and "Back in the High Life Again," which were all Top 20 hits for Winwood throughout 1987. "Vacant Chair" and "Help Me Angel" are mediocre efforts, but the remixed version of "Valerie," which was originally recorded on Talking Back to the Night, is indeed one of this set's highlights.
