Prelude was a successful match of McDuff's small-combo organ jazz with big band arrangements by Benny Golson. In part, that was because the blend was well-executed, never fighting with or drowning out McDuff's organ. But it was also because the mixture made it stand out amidst the scads of organ jazz records being churned out in the early '60s. While a very young George Benson was in the core quartet on guitar, a dozen others supplemented the players, including trumpets, trombones, French horns, and saxophones.
If you liked the melodic and harmonic tunes of Traces o'red, this album surpasses all expectations. It sounds spectacular. No synthetic drums and bass. This is the real thing. Traces was also a great album to contain much midi, but this album does it superbly without any computersound. Also a faboluos song from their early days. So this band really deserves great recognition worldwide. Check it out. It is plain and simple geniality.
The band originates from the web comic of the same name by Finnish artist J.P. Ahonen. The heralds of northern darkness BELZEBUBS have confirmed April 26th, 2019 as the release date for “Pantheon of the Nightside Gods”, their long-awaited Century Media studio album.
