Band Together

Hardcore band Misery Signals have reunited their original lineup in celebration of the tenth anniversary of their critically acclaimed debut album. This tour marks the first time the band will perform with its former vocalist since his unceremonious ousting a decade prior. "Yesterday Was Everything," explores the fatal tragedy that brought the band together, and follows their journey from Vancouver to Toronto as they face old ghosts and attempt to reconcile the past.

The conclusion to director Feng Xiaoning's "War and Peace" trilogy opens during the final days of World War II. Under harsh winter conditions in a remote forest, the Soviet Army launches an attack against Japanese forces in China. When the smoke of battle clears, a female Russian soldier, a Chinese farmer and a Japanese schoolgirl have survived. Stuck in deep snow in a forest far from civilization, the three survivors are forced to band together in order to stay alive. Together, they depart on a long and danger-filled journey.

The siblings Patty and Joe Rasnick live in an industrial suburb in Cleveland, Ohio. While Patty is focused on their rock band, The Barbusters, Joe also cares for the family and the upbringing of Patty's young son, Benji. Their pious mother reproaches them for their way of life, especially when they quit their jobs and go on tour, taking Benji with them. However, when their mother is dying of terminal cancer, they return home and resolve their problems with her.

After World War II, some Tokyo prostitutes band together with a strict code: no pimps, attack any street walker who comes into our territory, defend the abandoned building we call home, and punish whomever gives away sex (who falls in love). Maya, a young woman whose family has died, joins the group. Into the mix comes Shin, a thief who's killed a G.I. The women allow him to hide while recovering from wounds, but then he won't leave. Maya is drawn to him, discovering as she falls in love that she can feel again; she's now more fully human, but at the same time, she's endangered herself and her livelihood. Can she and Shin make it out of Tokyo to establish life as a couple?

Old-school stop-motion animation and fast-paced satire are the hallmarks of this eclectic show created by Seth Green and Matt Senreich. Action figures find new life as players in frenetic sketch-comedy vignettes that skewer TV, movies, music and celebrity. It's television especially formulated for the Attention Deficit Disorder generation.
