Aux yeux de ses parents et de ses amis, Cody Banks est un adolescent comme les autres, soit un passionné d'informatique, de "skateboard" et de musique rock qui se montre plutôt maladroit avec les filles. Mais en réalité, Cody fait partie de l'élite junior de la CIA, ayant été recruté par la sexy Ronica Miles lors d'un faux camp d'été.
Pour sa première mission importante, le jeune espion doit gagner la confiance de Natalie Connors, une populaire élève de son école, afin qu'elle le mène à son père, un réputé scientifique. Il s'avert que le docteur Connors est séquestré par les sinistres Brinkman et Moley, qui veulent s'emparer de sa plus récente invention, des cubes de glace contenant des micro-organismes d'une extraordinaire capacité de destruction.

Frankie Muniz (Malcolm of "Malcolm in the Middle") is adorable as the shy teen-age secret agent who woos a girl (Hilary Duff) while saving the world from an army of killer nanobots. The director Harald Zwart's spry direction and a set design straight out of the Sharper Image catalogue give the film a cheery tone, and seeing actual teen-age actors playing teen-agers is refreshing.

When Walt Disney's daughters begged him to make a movie of their favorite book, P.L. Travers' Mary Poppins (1964), he made them a promise - one that he didn't realize would take 20 years to keep.
