Below the Peeslee School of Medicine, there's almost more activity than on the main floor! The basement can be reached by stairs from the main building or by way of a private, concrete ramp for corpse delivery. Students can gather in a large medical theatre or in a large operating room. A smaller operating room is also available. The chief surgeon's office is nearby, and there's a morgue for keeping corpses cool and ready for examination.

"Blue Lights in the Basement" is the sixth studio album by American singer Roberta Flack released by Atlantic on December 13, 1977. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number eight on the US Billboard 200, becoming her third consecutive top-ten album on the chart and reaching number five on the R&B albums chart. On February 27, 1978, the album received a Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipments over 500,000 copies. The album features the single "The Closer I Get to You", a duet with best friend and fellow soul musician Donny Hathaway, which became the biggest hit from the album, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reaching #1 on the Hot Soul Singles chart. The collaboration with Hathaway would be one of his final singles released in his lifetime before his death in 1979.

Hailing from the outskirts of the Motor City, Dirty Basement Blues is a band comprised of 5 guys who are as hard working and gritty as the town they represent. The group was initially formed in late 2011 by drummer Mike Conley and guitarist Joe Stanley after teaming up for a studio project to record some of Stanley's new tunes. The two had played together in another project together for nearly ten years, and they were eager to embark on a new musical adventure. Conley is a rock solid drummer with impeccable timing and a huge pocket. He is the proverbial heartbeat of DBB. Joe Stanley is a lifelong student of the blues. He is the mean guitar slinging, songwriting and arranging force behind the bands sound. Bryan "Bodie" Miller, a longtime mutual friend, was brought in to fill the spot of bassist.
