John Patitucci received worldwide acclaim for his fluid, horn-influenced work on the six-string electric bass. A member of Chick Corea's Elektric and Akoustic Bands, John also has three solo albums to his credit. The first, entitled John Patitucci, reached #1 on the Billboard jazz chart and earned him two grammy nominations.

Johann Davidus Bass, Johann Martinus Bass and Johann Domenicus Bass were born in the slums of Vienna and Munich between 1725 and 1732. Maternally unrelated, they are said to share the same father. Rumour has it that they are the product of love affairs of a famous composer, which were to this day kept secret by various biographers. Three young men brought together by poverty and artistic necessity, the as-yet unacquainted half-siblings formed an engineering and art collective that was the envy of the international community.

For the Canadian-American soul-jazz collective Busty and the Bass, collaboration has always been at the forefront of their music. Formed at McGill University in Montreal over a decade ago, the group is now scattered across four North American cities from coast to coast.
