The final image of the "Final Crisis" story arc was that of Batman carving bat symbols on a cave wall. In comics where anything and everything is possible, that's like Bruce Wayne saying, "I'll be back!" Last May 12, 2010, the first issue in a 6-part limited series bearing this title was released by DC to the delight of Batman fans worldwide, and from the start, it resonated not only with fans but with critics alike. The creative team confidently helmed by Grant Morrison not only transcended expectations but delivered a strong basis for the series. A strong start that not only was sustained but was ever elevated to the next higher plane as the series went on, to it's final and terrific conclusion, Batman's duel with Darkseid. And what we have is Morrison completing quite an epic, a deconstruction of the Batman mythos and at the same time giving full rein to the various concepts he has of the Batman character. Not only is it totally, absolutely satisfying, it also frees us from whatever ideas we have of Batman and opens new doors for DC for more explorations, we hope at this level. And the last time I checked, all the comic book sites seem to agree with me. IGN for its part gave issue #6 of this series an "Incredible" 9.5 out of 10 rating. To that I can only raise my thumb. All high-quality Minutemen scans.

Doug Moench & Tony Wong | DC Comics | CBR | ISBN: 1401201016 | Softcover | Pub Oct 1 2004 | 128 Pages (c2c) | 86.60 MB

In the late 1980s, artist-entrepreneur Tony Wong's company Jademan released English language reprints of such Hong Kong fare as , and . After some initial popularity, the public's interest in Chinese comics waned, and Jademan ceased publication in the United States. However, Hong Kong (Chinese comics originally produced in China) experienced a resurgence of sorts when ComicsOne began releasing popular HK comics like , and to American readers. Perhaps inspired by this, DC Comics hired Tony Wong to try his hand at drawing one of the company's flagship characters: Batman. From a storytelling standpoint, Doug Moench's writing is a little bit on the thin side. Artistically speaking, however, the union between Tony Wong's Hong Kong style and the Dark Knight Detective is a proverbial match made in heaven. The Hong Kong method of mixing in traditional penciled art with full-color paintings results in a series of memorable images--the artwork is that good. If you are a fan of manhua or a fan of Batman this TPB's for you. Broomhandle Mauser's 200th scan for DCP.
