Battle for the Sun is the sixth studio album by the alternative rock band Placebo. It was released on June 8, 2009 by Vagrant Records in USA/Canada and by Solitary Man Records in Japan.

Almost five hours of riveting documentary footage detailing the last great land battle of the 20th Century's master tacticians Rommel and Montgomery as they fought across the Desert Plains of North Africa. Four cameramen were killed and six badly injured in the filming of the "Desert Victory", a record of arguably WWII's greatest contest: the Battle of Alamein. Also included in this eight film pack is John Huston's poetic documentary of the Allied invasion on a small Italian village "San Pietro".
