Whether it was the immediacy of recording or some other unexplainable element, Bauhaus always thrived when doing British radio appearances, with no less than five of the 18 tracks collected here seeing official release by the band on singles or albums during its first lifetime. That one of these was Bauhaus' biggest-ever British hit, the completely and perfectly over-the-top rendition of Bowie's "Ziggy Stardust," is further testimony to the band's success at the Beeb. The five show appearances here, including both John Peel sessions and guest spots with other DJs, make for an excellent sampling of the band in many different guises, from obscure rarities to redone versions of some of Bauhaus' most successful songs.

"Burning from the Inside" is the fourth studio album by English gothic rock band Bauhaus, released in 1983 by record label Beggars Banquet. During the recording of the album, singer Peter Murphy was gravely ill, leaving the rest of the band to undertake much of the writing and recording process without him. As evidence of how much input the rest of the band had on the album, bassist David J and guitarist Daniel Ash sang lead vocals on a number of songs. This, combined with the fact that the band started recording without Murphy, led to internal difficulties, and by the time the album was released, they had already broken up.

15 years after they broke up to pursue solo careers, the members of Bauhaus reformed for a limited series of live appearances. This two-disc, nearly 100-minute long live album (with one exception) was recorded in New York (hence the title) and is perhaps the best that the band has ever sounded. Kevin Haskin's drums never sounded this, well, massive on the studio albums, and Daniel Ash's guitars are sharper and more focused than ever…

The re-mastered set includes Mask, a second disc of the non-album singles, previously unreleased demos and alternative versions plus a newly mixed 1981 live show on the third disc. This Omnibus Edition is presented as a limited edition box set with the three CD's in Japanese-style paper sleeves, reproducing the original (gate-fold) vinyl cover art. Managing the sometimes hard-to-negotiate trick of expanding their sound while retaining all the qualities which got them attention to begin with, on Mask the members of Bauhaus consciously stretched themselves into newer areas of music and performance, resulting in an album that was arguably even better than the band's almost flawless debut.

Bauhaus Staircase is the fourteenth studio album by English electronic band Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD), and the fourth since their 2006 reformation. Released on 27 October 2023 by White Noise Records (and by 100% Records in the UK and Ireland), it is their first album in six years since The Punishment of Luxury (2017). The record was largely inspired by world politics during the late 2010s and early 2020s. Its release was preceded by three singles: the title track, "Slow Train", and "Veruschka". Bauhaus Staircase received positive reviews. Record Collector and Classic Pop magazines named it the best new album release in their respective November 2023 issues, while other outlets considered it to be OMD's finest work since the mid-1980s. The record debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart, becoming the group's highest-charting studio album in their home country, and matching the peak of 1988's The Best of OMD. It topped the UK Independent Albums Chart.
