Ron Burgundy is the top-rated anchorman in San Diego in the '70s. When feminism marches into the newsroom in the form of ambitious newswoman Veronica Corningstone, Ron is willing to play along at first-as long as Veronica stays in her place, covering cat fashion shows, cooking, and other "female" interests. But when Veronica refuses to settle for being eye candy and steps behind the news desk, it's more than a battle between two perfectly coiffed anchor-persons… it's war.

Pioneering Senegalese filmmaker Ousmane Sembene directed this controversial drama which deals in part with the barbaric practice of female genital mutilation (generally involving removal of the clitoris and temporary closure of the vagina), which is still practiced in a number of African nations in the name of "purification." Six girls who are scheduled to undergo the traditional purification ceremony escape, and four make their way to the home of Colle Ardo Gallo Sy (Fatoumata Coulibaly), a wife and mother who is sympathetic to their dilemma…..

Trevor Reznik is a lathe-operator who suffers from insomnia and hasn't slept in a year. Slowly, he begins to doubt his sanity as increasingly bizarre things start happening at work and at home. Thus begins our tale of renewal, sports and the search for acceptance as only Johnny To could tell it.
Simply terrific film from Johnnie To that's probably a little too self-amused for its own good, but qualifies as involving cinema nonetheless. The sum of the parts may not mean all that much, but the parts themselves are great stuff.

Lukas Moodysson is a Swedish director famed for his brutal, documentary-style approach to filmmaking - capturing some controversial aspects of life with desperate realism. Some of his films are easily comparable to the works of Ken Loach or Larry Clarke and similarly his movies may not be to everyone’s taste and will possibly appeal to few - but they are still commonly regarded as poignant statements about the horrors of real - often teenage - life. Here we get a collection of four of his main features, capturing, in turn, the troubles associated with ‘coming out’, the ups and downs of life in a seventies free-living commune, an abandoned child’s struggle in Russia and finally a boy’s struggle for survival while his dad films a degrading porn movie in the living room. None of them sound very appealing, but often - as in the case with depressing movies like Bjork’s debut, Dancer in the Dark - the pain of watching is worth it in the end.

When a thief driving a motorcycle steals a purse of a pedestrian, the clumsy, naive and honest rookie policeman Sang-hwan runs after him, but the skilled specialist in martial arts Wi-jin captures the criminal and Sang-hwan is severely injured. She brings Sang-hwan to her home, where the six Masters of Tao heal him and believe that he has a powerful Qi, the spiritual energy of the universe, and could be a powerful warrior. Sang-hwan begins his training to ascend to a Maruchi, while the evil and ambitious Heuk-woon is accidentally released from his imprisonment. The powerful Heuk-woon attacks the masters, searching a key that they protect, which would permit him to become an Arahan and dominate the world. When the masters are defeated, Sang-hwan and Wi-jin are the only and last hope to mankind.
