Becvar

Samadhi is a 1990 collaborative album between vocalist Nada Shakti and wonder musician Bruce BecVar. This was put out by Shining Star Productions.

This California guitarist and synthesist writes highly melodic, commercially accessible ensemble music. Though he plays most of the instruments himself, his technique on acoustic guitar is most admirable. He's also a well-known luthier – one of his hand-crafted guitars is on display at the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art.

When Columbia Records released Cheryl Lynn's second album, "In Love", in 1979, the Los Angeles native had a lot to live up to. Her 1978 smash "Got to Be Real" had become one of the definitive anthems of the Disco Era, reaching #1 on Billboard s R&B singles chart and #12 on Billboard s pop singles chart. On top of that, "Star Love" (another single from Lynn's self-titled debut album of 1978) was a #16 R&B hit in Billboard. So Columbia had high hopes for "In Love". The album was a huge success and made it to #5 on Billboard's R&B albums chart and sold more than one million copies in the United States alone.

John Mellencamp is an American rock singer-songwriter, musician, painter and occasional actor known for his catchy, populist brand of heartland rock which emphasizes traditional instrumentation. He has sold over 40 million albums worldwide and has amassed 22 Top 40 hits in the United States. In addition, he holds the record for the most tracks by a solo artist to hit number-one on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, with seven, and has been nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, winning one. His biggest musical influences are Bob Dylan, Woody Guthrie, Buddy Holly and The Rolling Stones. Mellencamp was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10, 2008.
