Publisher: Olmstead Press | ISBN-10: 1587541165 | edition June 1, 2001 | PDF | 260 pages | 1.1 mb

"I know more than Apollo
Fort oft when he lies sleeping
I behold the starts at mortal wars
And the wounded wekin weeping."
–Tom O' Bedlam's song
Tom, like the medieval Tom O'Bedlam, can't decipher the meaning of the images plaguing his mind. Much like the wondering and mad Tom of the medieval ballad, the Tom O' Bedlam of 2103 doesn't know what to make of the images that keep cluttering his mind. To preserve the last shred of his sanity and keep these never-ending wonders a secret, he feigns insanity. But then a probe that has traveled over four light years away transmits the very pictures that have been haunting Tom's dreams.
In this post-industrial world on the verge of a total collapse, Tom has become humanity's spokesperson to the distant planet that may be his world's salvation.

Bedlam: London's Hospital for the Mad

Bedlam: London's Hospital for the Mad by Paul Chambers
English | November 29th, 2019 | ISBN: 0711033870, 0750991488 | 320 pages | EPUB | 0.75 MB

Bethlem Hospital is the oldest mental institution in the world, but to many it is famous only as 'Bedlam', a chaotic madhouse that brutalised its patients. This book explores the 800-year history of Bethlem and reveals fascinating details of its ambivalent relationship with London and Londoners, the life and times of the hospital's more famous patients, and the rise of a powerful reform movement which forced the government to take the issue of Bedlam seriously. Paul Chambers brings the whole story of Bethlem Hospital to a new audience, charting its well-intended beginnings to its final disgrace and reform.

Less acoustic and intimate than the first album Folly Tales, released in 2018 on Another Record (FR) et Outré (UK), Dance until the crimes end shifts towards a capricious, fanciful and sophisticated pop, sometimes coloured with psychedelic folk…

It can't come as a surprise that the Mars Volta's fourth album opens with a bang - sonic terrorism is one of the only things listeners can count on from the band - but it's genuinely novel that The Bedlam in Goliath never lets go of its momentum, not even after a full hour's worth of unrelenting war on silence, the wrapping paper for a concept album about the power of the occult. On their first three proper albums, Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodriguez-Lopez played games of quiet-loud-quiet (or loud-quiet-loud), sneaking around stealthily for minutes at a time before detonating another blast of thrash metal riffing and piercing screams. The Bedlam in Goliath is simply loud-loud-loud, virtually every song played at maximum volume and tempo. But, in fact, instead of being wearisome or exhausting, it's an oddly refreshing album…
