I was truly humbled by the high art and soul of duet singing and its power to tell the story of the human heart, broken and otherwise, but Porter and Dolly became the gold standard for me and remain so to this day. At a time when the airwaves and iPods spew out bloodless and over-calculated offerings of a once venerable genre, this is the real deal, my friends - country music the way God intended. And if there is a radio station in heaven, Porter and Dolly will always be in heavy rotation.

Grady Nichols From the time he picked up his first saxophone in the sixth grade, Grady Nichols fell in love with the instrument. Raised in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, Nichols studied under legendary saxophonist Joe Davis in his high-school years. After graduating from John Brown University, Nichols moved to Tulsa and became recognized on the scene for his mix of jazz and gospel hues. In 1996, he released his debut album, Between You and Me, which was mainly a live recording. The following year saw him release Mysterious Intentions. Having performed or shared the stage with everyone from the O'Jays and Bill Champlin to Herb Alpert and Huey Lewis & the News, the musician perfected his craft and became one of the new stars on the jazz scene. In 2001, he released In the Fullness of Time and quickly returned to the studio to record his fourth album, Sophistication. When not performing on land, Nichols has performed on various cruise lines. He has appeared on the gospel television show Hour of Power and has remade the Star Trek theme, which impressed William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. The performer has also hosted an annual charity concert, which has seen performers including the Beach Boys. He has also performed at the World Pulse Festival in Indiana.

"Just Between You and Me" is Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton's first duet album, released in January 1968, shortly after Parton joined Wagoner's band and became a regular on his weekly television show. The album's single was a cover of Tom Paxton's "The Last Thing on My Mind"; the album and the single reached the top ten on the country albums and singles charts, respectively. The title song, written by Jack Clement, had been a top-ten hit for Charley Pride earlier in 1967. Parton originally wrote "Put it Off Until Tomorrow" for artist Bill Phillips.

Recorded while living off-grid in a French village, Perila's debut album proper is a dissociated, erotically charged throb of curling vocals, glassy synths, creaking environmental concrète, brushed jazz drums and submerged, dubwise subs. Like early Grouper spliced with Kenji Kawai's ominous "Ring" soundtrack, then re-assembled by DJ Spooky, Jake Muir and Vladislav Delay >> it’s properly time warping gear that's ineffably beautiful without being precious or cute.

Australia-based singer and songwriter Lior released his first album, Autumn Flow, in 2005. Nominated for a handful of awards – including nods from the J Award and the ARIA Awards, as well as being a voracious seller, Lior's debut earned him a coveted spot in the 2005 WOMAD festival, with which he visited the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Korea. The Israeli-born artist then released his second album, Doorways of My Mind, in early 2006. A live collection featuring new works alongside tracks from his debut, Dooorways led to television spots and more critical acclaim. In 2007, Lior released the single "Heal Me" as well as a digital EP of the same name. Album number three, Corner of an Endless Road, hit store shelves in February of 2008.
