And again VH's David Lee Roth era… For these 2015 Remastered Releases, Van Halen enlisted the help of mastering enginer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums for Bernie Grundman Studios, Hollywood, CA. The remasters have been cut straight from the original quarter-inch tapes.

A long overlooked organist in the tradition of Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff, Hank Marr had a rare opportunity to lead a session on this 1995 Double Time CD; most of his records were cut during 1960-64. With the assistance of tenor-saxophonist Gene Walker, guitarist Kevin Turner and drummer Jim Rupp (all of whom like Marr are both obscure and talented), Marr swings his way through some basic originals and a few standards such as "Emily," "Soul Eyes" and "Never Let Me Go." This is accessible music that is easily recommended to fans of the hard bop organ.

Always good to have a collection of easy-listening material to hand, this collection of 'love-songs' spans the decades from the 50's upwards. Many of these are of course re-released which makes it worth checking-out that you don't already own before committing to buy. Because of the love-theme this will fit the mood of the moment, great background music whilst enjoying that one-on-one meal or too just chill. Because of the time span of the material there is i would say something on-board for every romantic among us, certainly at less than 10p a track it has to be worth considering with the collection of old memories and somewhat more recent material, from 'Perry Como' in the 50's too 'Miley Cirus' I'll highlight just a few tracks from each of the four CD's to give an indication of what you'll find among the track-listings.
