Filmtrax will release the official soundtrack album for the western No Man’s Land. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green Room, Hold the Dark, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, The Informer, Blue Ruin). No Man’s Land is directed by Conor Allyn and stars Frank Grillo, Andie MacDowell, George Lopez, Jorge A. Jimenez and Esmeralda Pimentel. The movie is set at the Texas-Mexico border and follows two border vigilantes who are out on patrol when one of them accidentally kills a Mexican immigrant boy. The western will be released in select theaters and on VOD tomorrow by IFC Films.

Back Lot Music will release the official soundtrack album for the horror thriller Black Christmas. The album features the film’s original music composed by Will Blair & Brooke Blair (Green Room, Hold the Dark, The Informer, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore, Blue Ruin). Black Christmas is co-written and directed by Sophia Takal and stars Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Lily Donoghue, Brittany O’Grady, Caleb Eberhardt, Simon Mead and Carl Elwes. The movie is based on the 1974 cult horror classic of the same title and follows a campus killer who comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood. The Blumhouse production will be released in theaters nationwide on December 13 by Universal Pictures.

When it comes to wreaking musical mayhem, film scores from micro-budgeters to multiplex tentpoles have beaten the band with percussive savagery, raging strings and knife-stab samples. But where these soundtracks have tried be even more murderous than the slashing blades, gun shots and assorted blunt instruments they accompany, Brooke and Will Blair have shown that one can effectively conjure brutality by speaking softly and carrying a big ambient stick.

William Kerley’s debut feature film is based on the true story of Frank Mitchell, a career criminal who escaped from Dartmoor Prison with the help of Ronnie and Reggie Kray, Britain’s most infamous gangsters, ten days prior to Christmas 1966. Whilst a national manhunt ensued, Mitchell was hiding out in East London with a minder and hostess for company – and finding this new imprisonment increasingly intolerable. ‘The Mad Axeman’ is a gripping suspense crime drama.
