German power metallers BLIND GUARDIAN will release their tenth studio album, "Beyond The Red Mirror", in Europe on January 30, 2015 and in North America on February 3, 2015 via Nuclear Blast. Four and a half years in the making, the follow-up to 2010's "At The Edge Of Time" was recorded at Twilight Hall Studio in Grefrath, Germany and produced by Charlie Bauerfeind (SAXON, HAMMERFALL, HELLOWEEN). The CD showcases BLIND GUARDIAN's collaborative work with three different classical choirs: one from the Czech Republic (Prague), one from Hungary (Budapest), and one from the United States (Boston). Two grand orchestras — each featuring 90 musicians — also lend their brilliant talents to the new recordings with absolutely spellbinding results. Transporting listeners via a mysteriously powerful red mirror into an otherworldly dimension that includes tyrants, gods, and the Holy Grail, the ten songs comprising "Beyond The Red Mirror"'s story lines revolve around the young protagonist we first met twenty years ago in the 1995 tracks "Bright Eyes" and "And The Story Ends".
Seven years after "Beyond The Red Mirror", Krefeld metal kings Blind Guardian make a brilliant return and compensate for the waiting time with their new studio album "The God Machine". Offering anthems like "Blood Of The Elves", "Secrets Of The American Gods" and "Violent Shadows", the album proves to be a modern masterpiece that transports the trademarks of the classic "Imaginations From The Other Side" into the here and now.
Imaginations from the Other Side is the fifth studio album by Blind Guardian that was released in 1995. The atmosphere of this album is darker in comparison to their earlier works, such as Battalions of Fear, which had a relatively light tone. This album also marks the first since Battalions of Fear in which Kai Hansen (Gamma Ray) did not guest on vocals or guitar, and the last album to feature vocalist Hansi Kürsch as bassist. It was also their first album to spawn off any singles, in the form of "A Past and Future Secret" and "Bright Eyes". It was remastered and re-released on 15 June 2007
"Memories Of A Time To Come", the ultimate collection of BLIND GUARDIAN music from 1987 to 2011, will be released on January 20, 2012 via Virgin/EMI. Commented the band: "Finally, after all these years, we have found the time to gather our most worthy songs into a best of compilation, representative of our career's first 25 years."From the very beginning it was important for us to undertake this project only if we could put the necessary time and attention to detail into it. With overwhelming nostalgia we have looked back on 25 years and came up with 'Memories Of A Time To Come', an organic mixture of some of our greatest songs.
Blind Guardian is a German power metal band, originally known as Lucifer's Heritage, formed in the mid 80s. The current members are Hansi Kürsch, André Olbrich, Marcus Siepen and Frederik Ehmke (who replaced original drummer Thomas "Thomen" Stauch in 2005).After two demos they released their first studio album Battalions of Fear in 1988. Since then they have released seven of their power-metal-on-a-fantasy-theme albums with the most recent being 2006's A Twist in the Myth.
There may be people out there who don't regard BLIND GUARDIAN's "Imaginations From The Other Side" as a classic heavy metal record, but those people are wrong and deserve to be publicly scorned for their foolishness. "Imaginations " remains a lot of fans' favorite album by the Germans, not least because it seemed to confidently define the band's sound at a point when melodic bombast and theatricality were, with mainstream rock and metal folk, about as popular as genital warts.
Legendary German power metal band, Blind Guardian return with The God Machine, the band’s twelfth studio album and first ‘regular’ studio album in seven years, following Beyond the Red Mirror in 2015. The God Machine will be released on September 2nd, 2022 via Nuclear Blast.
