The voice of one of the best known singers in the international opera scene, that of bass Michele Pertusi, is certainly the ideal interpreter of the romances by Francesco Paolo Tosti, composer that became famous for his chamber lyrics, as well as the protagonist of the most important artistic salons of the era and singing teacher of Princess Margherita of Savoy. The texts of the romances contained in this full bodied double album are all by the great Gabriele D'Annunzio, whom with Tosti formed one of those artistic combinations that are rarely found in the history of music, given the congeniality expressed by the two authors, each giant in his own art.The pianist Raffaele Cortesi, expert connoisseur and performer of the chamber vocal repertoire, shows his elegant and refined style in accompanying Michele Pertusi on the piano.

The young violinist Conor Gricmanis and his early music ensemble Noxwode, have recorded rare and beautiful violin sonatas by the early Italian Baroque composer Marco Uccellini for FHR.

This album presents some of the all-time “classics” of the classical trumpet repertoire. After much deliberation on how, when, what and why, trumpeter Omar Tomasoni explains that two specific events convinced him that now was the time to make the recording: the birth of his son Siebe and the pandemic. The programme includes Brandt’s Concertpieces No. 1 and No. 2, Françaix’s Sonatine for Trumpet, Enescu’s Legend for Trumpet and Piano, and Honegger’s Intrada. For a newly commissioned piece by Rob Goorhuis, entitled Canzoni, the two main performers here are joined by saxophone player Femke IJlstra. The album is concluded by Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, arranged for trumpet and piano by Timofei Dokschitzer.

With this recording, Federica Bianchi explores the development of music for keyboard instruments from the beginning of the 15th century to the dawn of the Baroque period. The earliest works originate from the famous Codex Faenza (c. 1400-1420), a manuscript of secular songs arranged for keyboard instrument by composers such as Jacopo da Bologna and Guillaume de Machaut. The earliest printed collection (1517), devoted exclusively to music for keyboard instruments, marks another milestone in this development. Later works on this album include arrangements of Renaissance hits such as Ancor che col partire.Federica Bianchi’s exploration of this repertoire takes her to the toccatas of the late 16th and early 17th centuries. Federica Bianchi plays this repertoire on three instruments built after historical models: a clavicymbalum after a design from the first half of the 15th century and two harpsichords after Italian models from the 16th and 17th centuries.

In her recording for PASSACAILLE, the Italian harpsichordist and organist Federica Bianchi deals with the development of music for keyboard instruments from the beginning of the 15th century to the beginning of the Baroque period.
