Celtica

The Edinburgh-based eleven-piece band are an increasingly important name on the UK’s World Music scene, having stolen the show at gigs and festivals throughout the world with their unprecedented high-energy fusion of Latin and Celtic sounds and rhythms.
Apparently against the odds, one style flows naturally into another, creating a magical instrumental mix that blends bagpipes with congas, brass with fiddles. The result has been an exuberant fan base and a growing reputation for this broad collective of musicians which includes artists from Cuba, Ireland, Scotland and Venezuela among its number.

Celtica is an outstanding, high energetic live act, so it was time to capture this energy and the atmosphere of their live show on DVD and CD. The Montelago Celtic Festival in Italy, where Celtica has already played very successfully in 2014, should be the perfect ambience for a unique concert - the best Celtica performance ever. Mainly the latest album 'Steamphonia' had already symphonic elements, so the eight best tunes were carefully selected to be performed with a full orchestra. Already several months before the concert the preparations with the classical orchestra and choir of 'Compagnia della Piuma', located in Siena, Italy, started, and a score with hundreds of pages had to be written and practiced.

Un'indagine capillare e insuperata, condotta sulla base di fonti di prima mano e spesso inedite, sulla galassia nera, nelle sue varie sfaccettature. Il racconto politico del neofascismo si giustappone alla storia in armi degli anni Sessanta e Settanta: dalla stagione dell'eversione e dello stragismo allo spontaneismo armato, segnato soprattutto dalla parabola dei Nar di Valerio Fioravanti. Ne emerge un ritratto in movimento, animato da personaggi e storie, che prende le mosse dalla cronaca – anche, ma solo all'apparenza, minima – per toccare punti nevralgici e irrisolti della storia d'Italia.
