The album features 100 tracks by various artists that The Beatles listened to, performed on stage, or drew inspiration from during their formative years. These songs, in many cases, became part of their live repertoire or directly influenced the development of the signature Beatles sound.

Another serious project in vein of Time Life Music, the "24 Golden Hits" is a compilation series of the world famous hits, released on CD between 1987-1993.
